Think Green

The Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Lebenswissenschaften Heidelberg GmbH aims to conserve the environment and works closely with the professional conference organiser, MCI Berlin, to realise this.

MCI Berlin considers sustainable growth as a corporate duty and implements green measures in the planning of events and conferences.

Through an analysis of the ecological footprint of The EMBO Meeting 2012 in Nice, France, we will endeavour to implement further energy saving and and environmentally friendly steps for The EMBO Meeting 2013.

Our contribution:

  • Further e-marketing & online marketing, reduced print marketing
  • Use of recycled paper for the Abstract Book & Final Programme (reduced number of copies as a result of participants using e-versions of the books)
  • Participants bags are recyclable and produced from recycled materials
  • Recycling facilities and waste separation facilities at the conference venue
  • Facility to return participant badges for recycling

Your contribution:

  • Please hand your badge in for recycling at the end of the conference
  • Please separate waste as advised
  • Ask exhibitors to provide brochures and documents online
  • If you are from Northern Europe, please consider travelling to Amsterdam by train

Giving back:

  • Leftover delegate bags, writing pads, pens, T-shirts and other sponsoring and exhibition material will be donated to social projects.
